A Continental gold etui, mid-18th century, of tapering form, with a hinged lid and gold push button, decorated throughout with a wave pattern in relief. A fitted interior comprising a pair of gold-handed scissors, damaged, a gold-handed folding knife, a gold needle, one needle deficient, a gold-handed corkscrew, and a gold pencil. Unmarked and tested as approximately 14ct gold. 105g Provenance: Maurice 'Dick' Turpin, Barons Keep, London W14. Condition Report: Damage to the scissors (one handle deficient) One needle compartment vacant. Marks and areas of darkening to the gold. Overall good condition for the age, however, care must be taken when removing the implements from the fitted compartment.
