A Continental gold mounted Blue John fluorite snuffbox, c.1780, of circular form, the gold mounted lid embellished with granulation, unidentified maker's mark, a later French import hallmark, 98.73g 30mm x 50mm Provenance: Maurice 'Dick' Turpin, Barons Keep, London W14. Condition Report: With a 'Hobart House Connecticut' label at the base of the box. The Blue John fluorite has a few hairline cracks/stress lines and areas of pitting. The hinge is well preserved.
