A Continental oak wood bookcase
19th Century
Unmarked
The stacked wood bookcases, each with hinged glazed doors revealing three green painted shelves in upper console and single shelf below, each with brass hardware and locking mechanism, 2 pieces
Upper: 43.5" H x 42.5" W x 13" D; Lower: 40" H x 46.5" W x 16.25" D
Condition Report: Each overall good condition with scattered scuffs, scratches, nicks, shrinkage cracks, indentations, and separation at joints commensurate with age. Scattered deeper scratches and indentations to sides, the left side with 8" long area of chipping to the wood and wear to the finish. Soiling to cabinet interiors. Staining to the wood verso, with pencil marked numbers. The top is slightly shaky in its mounting. Upper unit with max residue to top. Includes keys. Condition reports are offered as a courtesy and are typically published in Moran's catalogue or can be made available upon request. The absence of a condition report does not imply that an item is free from defects or restoration, nor does a reference to particular defects imply the absence of others. Buyers are responsible for determining to their own satisfaction the true nature and condition of any lot prior to bidding. Though buyers are not legally required to inspect lots prior to purchase, failure to do so may constitute a waiver of complaint that an item was not delivered in a condition equal to the existent condition at the auction.
