A Continental pottery charger, late 19th century, of Hispano-Moresque form and decorated with coloured slip, the raised central boss with a wyvern enclosed by waved and interwoven bands, the border with eleven circular panels, the footrim pierced for suspension, 43.2 cm diameter
Overall, this charger is in good condition with only small condition faults. There is a minor chip to the underside of the rim (approximately 6 mm. x 16 mm.) which is only visible from the underside. In addition, there is a short minor hairline crack from the rim at 12 o’clock (approximately 18 mm. long) and another at 6 o’clock (approximately 24 mm. long) - these are both very minor and appear to be to the glaze (they are visible from the underside). There is some very slight chipping and flaking to the footrim, which is also very minor.
