A DAYAK MANDAU

Single-edged blade with rust damages and silver decorations on one side; typical, bone hilt, finely embossed and decorated with vegetable binding and horsehair; wooden scabbard, embossed with fiber bands and copper wire (of the following era). A scabbard for accompanying knife on the back. Fiber suspension rope, a nice, chiselled, turquoise pendant. Apokayan, Bahau-region, East-Kalimantan.
