Inscription: lower left signed in the printing plate: "A. C. Dies f.". At the lower part inscribed in the printing plate: "Lago in Villa Borghese". lower left dated: "Romae 1793". At the upper part further inscription: "Collection de vues pittoresques de l'Italie [...]".
Date: 1799
Description: The engraving shows an idyllic landscape scene of the Villa Borghese in Rome with ancient temple architecture, surrounded by lush vegetation and figures in period dress lingering on the shore of a lake. Probably a later print for the French-language edition of the "Malerisch radirte Prospekte von Italien".

Condition: Defective condition. Marked inscription in an unknown hand in ink on upper margin. Slight foxing. Partly stained and slightly soiled along the edges. Pale liquid stain at top centre. Remains of an old binding along the left edge of the sheet. The corners of the sheet slightly bumped and creased in places.
