Technique: Etching on Paper

Inscription: lower left signed in the printing plate: "A. C. Dies pinx et incid.". At the lower part inscribed in the printing plate: "Cascatella di Tivoli". lower left dated: "Romae 1792".

Date: 1799

Description: This detailed etching depicts an idyllic landscape scene below Tivoli, characterised by lush vegetation and a lively rural scene. In the foreground, a scene flanked by trees with people and a mule can be recognised, while in the middle ground a waterfall emerges between wooded hills and a diffuse sky with cloud formations forms the background in the distance. Probably a later print for the French-language edition of the "Malerisch radirte Prospekte von Italien".
