A DIVISION THREE PICTORIAL STUDIO CERAMIC BUTTON
1 Extra large 1940's ceramic button with a rooster.
Here is a very unusual button to find. This button came off a card of buttons from the 1940's of ceramic buttons molded from 19th century brass picture buttons. Not all the buttons are signed but some bear the initials AD or some the name Adams, and one rare button made for the 1946 Just buttons Fair is signed Townsend. I have decided to break the card up to offer them in this and future auctions to the collectors. This is the first of 5 lots in this auction and it is the largest button and depicts a rooster head in relief with a gold border. I have attached the image of the whole card so you can all see it. They have been attached to this card since the 1940;s. What a neat piece of button history. The glazes by the way are awesome.
Issued: DIVISION 1=PRE 1918 AND DIVISION 3 IS AFTER 1918
Dimensions: SM=Less than 3/4", Medium=3/4" to 1 1/4". Large=1 1/4" and above, extra large=1 3/4" and above
