A DOUBLE FOSSIL SEA LILY PLAQUE, GERMANY
From the Lower Jurassic, Toarcian (174-182 million years ago) Posidonienschiefer Formation, Holzmaden Germany, the two specimens of Seirocrinus subangularis with large crowns, (12 and 13 inches across), both placed in a stabilised matrix, anchored to flotsam covered in Inoceramus sp. shells ; the pyritisation of the fossils resulting in rarely seen large glistening crystals. Framed.
