probably a stand for a ewer, painted in Chinese 'Transitional' style with a central boss painted with figures dining at a table within foliate scrollwork reserves, the rim painted with Chinese generals or soldiers at a table with three further figures within an oriental landscape.

The rim at 4 o'clock with a D-shaped section restored and associated hairline crack which extends into dish above raised boss. A D-shaped section of rim restored at 8 o'clock. Areas of over-painting at these points, as visible in the catalogue illustration. The front and back with a clear spray.
