A Dutch Engraved Glass Wine Glass

Circa 1770
the rim engraved with the phrase 'Honi Soit Qui Mal y Pense' and surmounting a wheel-cut forest scene surrounding a moated building with a courting couple visible in the interior, the opposite side decorated with a risquè scene of two pairs of legs emerging from bushes and raised on a plain baluster stem with a knopped base.
Height 7 3/8 inches.

Property from a Private Collection European Furniture & Decorative Arts The bowl having a few scatted air bubbles to base, none appear to impact the surface of the glass. One very small fleabite chip to foot rim. Additional images available upon request.
