A FAMILLE VERTE MOULDED 'BIRD AND FLOWER' TEAPOT AND COVER, KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The teapot is decorated to one side with a pair of roosters amongst cockscomb flowers and to the other with a pair of peacocks amongst bamboo, all in a fenced garden. The sides are decorated with flower sprays. The teapot is modelled with a straight spout and an upright handle decorated in imitation of rattan. The cover is decorated with further flower sprays and is surmounted by a lotus bud finial.
