Fine pair of high quality pistols with fire blued screw barrels with stiffleaf engraving at muzzles and breeches. Scalloped paktong actions profusely engraved with foliate scrolls and "LONDON" on right sides and "J WILLIAMS" on other sides. Sliding engraved and fire-blued tang safeties on tops. Fire-blued and engraved hammers and folding triggers. Finely checkered walnut bag grips with silver oval-shaped wrist escutcheons. Complete in their original mahogany case with burgundy velour partitioned interior with a lidded compartment. Lid with a flush brass escutcheon with folding handle, round brass keyhole escutcheon. Accessories include a brass dual cavity powder flask marked "J. DIXON & SONS / SHEFFIELD" on ball cavity cover. Also included is a brass bullet mold and steel ramrod with brass tip. CONDITION: Excellent overall. Barrels retain nearly all of their original fire-blued finish with some light muzzle wear from casing. Actions crisp and function well, hammers retain nearly all of their original fire-blued finish. Case interior shows some fading and minor staining, one lid absent but bone knob is present. Flask and mold very good and retain a dark mustard patina. A very attractive high quality cased pair.
