A fine genovese type knife
dating: Mid 18th Century provenance: Italy, Straight, single-edged blade, with small fuller in the center, back decorated with notches through almost all the length, and with tang with a curl. Knot with moulded decoration, of octagonal section. Silver ring-nut, engraved and moulded with leaves at the border, silver cap decorated with petals. Horn grip, of slightly curved shape, enlarged upwards, with grooves and carved with curls alongside (small part missing on one side); back and internal part with silver plates, engraved and moulded with floral motifs. Wooden, leather-covered scabbard; silver chape and cap. length 30,7 cm.
