The small chest of typical rectangular form, all sides decorated with large flowering sprays of chrysanthemum, prunus, orchids and branches of bamboo, all emerging from behind clouds embellished with diamond patterns, the hinges and lock with delicate scrolling tendrils and with a cloud-shaped loop handle to the top, the doors opening to reveal four drawers in black lacquer, with small chrysanthemum-shaped handles and lined in red velvet, signed Shuzan koku, 15.8cm x 11.2cm x 13.7cm.
