A fine kilic

dating: 19th Century provenance: Turkey, Curved, single-and false-edged blade with double groove on the back, both side with long inscriptions in Arabic, gold-inlaid on black background (probably of the following era), engraved borders. Typical hilt with iron, cross-quillon, decorated with Arabic inscriptions and golden floral motifs. Horn grip with iron mounts decorated in gold. Wooden scabbard covered with remains of red fabric, iron mounts decorated en suite in gild. Two suspension rings. length 98 cm.
