Mosquito remains in amber are highly uncommon compared to fungus gnats. This specimen is large and exceptionally well-detailed. On the reverse of the specimen is a cricket and other insects. Polished to a fine grade.
From the amber mines of Kachin, Myanmar. Cretaceous in age, circa 100 million years old.
