A FRENCH ART NOUVEAU GILT BRONZE MOUNTED FAIENCE VASE CLOCK, CIRCA 1890, the unglazed pale green ground baluster form body with polychrome painted and incised stylized oak leaf with tendril curling vines, surmounted by a domed lid encircled by a sunflower petals mount and topped with a wilting pansies cast finial, above similarly detailed bronze handled sides flanking a circular glass domed and reeded gilt bezel within a gilt pierced border of undulating floral vines, framing a white enamel dial enclosing black Arabic hour and quarter-hour numerals, surrounding painted floral swags and steel halberd/spike hands above twin key escapements, verso door opening to brass clockworks numbered "21692," above a short socle flaring to circular foot and raised on a reticulated gilt bronze flowering peony stems footed base, includes pendulum numbered "3684." Height: 22 1/2" Width: 8" Depth: 7 1/2" Provenance: Lifelong Collection of Clocks and Antiques, Navasota, Texas.
Condition Report: Good condition for clocks of this age, use, materials, and origin including but not limited to expected surface buildup in areas throughout, when bezel open dial face has a very faint hairline from top tiny edge nick when closed not seen, rubbed gilding on edges and light wear from use.
