A FRENCH BEVELED GLASS AND GILT BRASS REGULATOR CARRIAGE CLOCK, JAPY FRÈRES CLOCKWORKS, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, of lantern form and hinged glass door opening to a circular off-white enameled dial within leaf-tip bezel, enclosing stylized black Arabic hour numerals and blued cut steel hands above twin key escapements, reversing to a matching hinged door opening to eight day brass clock mechanism striking gong on hour and half hour, stamped circular pastille "JAPY FRERES MED. D'HONNEUR," encircling a Maltese cross form medal, above "MADE IN FRANCE / 1950 58," suspending a twin glass vial and brass compensating pendulum, surmounted on exterior with a rounded rectangular cornice and raised on conforming base with stylized bracket feet, includes winding key.
