A Fabulous 19th Century Inlaid Musical Box on Table Stand. The lid inlaid with a marquetry floral spray to a birdseye maple panel edged with chequer banding on a rosewood ground framed by a diagonally grained tulipwood border with moulded and ebonised edge. The Swiss made mechanism playing three cylinders on a 9'' (23 cm) long comb; two housed in a drawer below, each playing eight tunes listed by hand to a decorative printed label inside the lid. The box raised on an ebonised stand with turned ball-knopped legs tapering down to white ceramic castors, 36'' (91 cm) high, 30'' (76 cm) wide, 14½'' (37 cm) deep.
