A Famille Verte Porcelain Figure of Guanyin

清中期 “何朝宗”仿款素三彩書卷觀音坐像
the benevolent figure depicted seated at ease over the left bent leg, the right knee supported delicate crossed hands, one wearing a handle, with slender fingers clutching a scroll. The body slightly turned to invite cascading folds of draping robes, separating at the chest the show a lotus pendant, the face just downcast and hair elegantly coiffed. ALl seated above a reticulated rocky base beside a vase. Enameled with the famille verte palette over the white glazed base.
Height 10 3/8 in., 26.4 cm.
Asian Art
In overall very good and stable condition, with some minor firing imperfections visible to the underside at the interior, and minor pitting and rubbing to the enamels. Examination under UV light shows no sign of repair or restoration. Enameling probably a later addition.
