With earlier bright sharply tapering blade of flattened hollow diamond section, the forte on each side with central gilt fuller etched 'Franciso Pichinio', heavy hilt finely punched overall, and sparsely cast and chased with foliage in low relief, the foliage framing grotesque masks on the outer edge of the moulded slightly upcurved double shell-guard and on the knuckle-guard, large globular pommel with button, grip bound with two thicknesses of twisted gilt wire, and retaining most of its original gilding
