A Flemish-Style Cup Hilt Sword by Pedro del Monte
Slender thrusting blade of rhomboidal section marked in fullers with the signature "PEDRO DEL MONTE" "EN TOLEDO", steel hilt (slightly damaged) with pierced and chased hilt fretworked with foliate motifs, knuckle guard interset with pines, fig-shaped pommel is further carved, wooden grip is wrapped around with iron wire. Probably Holland, third quarter of the 17th century, length 108 cm. Condition 2+
