A Flemish carved wood Corpus Christi, 2nd half 15th century

Carved in the round, the reverse only summarily worked. The arms visibly reattached. With presumably original, older polychromy. A depiction of Christ crucified with three nails. His head is tilted to one side, his legs hang parallel, his nude body is expressively rendered, and the drapery of the fluttering perizonium is finely depicted in its fall.

Minimal wear. Height 30 cm, width of arms 25.5 cm. Provenance
