each piece of the tea and coffee-service pear-shaped and on four foliage-capped scroll feet, engraved with foliage and vacant cartouches, comprising a teapot; a coffee-pot, each with ivory-insulated handle; a cream-jug and a sugar-bowl, the salvers each circular and on three tapering beaded panel feet, with beaded border and engraved with foliage, the larger salver engraved with an inscription, in fitted oak box with metal handles and vacant brass shield the coffee-pot 27cm high, the largest salver 30.5cm diameter, total gross weight 119oz 6dwt, 3,711gr (6) The inscription on the salver reads 'This Salver and Tea Service are Presented to Stephen Jackson Esq're by Mess'rs John Brogden & Sons, in Token of Their High Respect and Their Appreciation of His Services'. With non-transferable standard ivory exemption declaration number ELMSN5F4.

Each piece fully marked underneath with marks for London, 1864-1865 or 1865-1866. The teapot and coffee-pot each further part marked with matching marks on handle and inside cover. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There are some cracks and discolouration to the ivory insulartor. The box with wear, scratches and some cracking. One panel on the cover is coming detached. The felt lining inside with some staining and wear. We are happy to provide Condition Reports to prospective buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale. We cannot guarantee a reply to any requests made within 48 hours of the start of the auction. The absence of a Condition Report from a lot does not mean that the lot is in perfect condition.
