A Frankfurt parcel gilt silver coin-set beaker
A conical beaker on a flat base, engraved to the body with scrollwork and trailing acanthus amid 32 16th - 18th century coins in four stepped rows. Some Danzig "dreigroschen" with portraits of King Sigismund I of Poland, some Brunswick-Lüneburg, and some Brandenburg. The base inset with a Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel "24 mariengroschen" coin dated 1698. Monogrammed "J.C.B." and dated 1738 below the rim. H 12 cm, weight 265 g.
