A French 19th century Empire revival gilt bronze mounted fauteuil
With a dished and scrolled back, the frames mounted with laurel-leaf trails each centred by a rosette, with arm terminals modelled as gilt bronze seated sphinxes, on ring turned shaped front legs mounted with lotus-leaf collars terminating in lion paw feet, with square splayed rear legs, 62cm wide.
The offered lot is illustrated in A. B. Sassone, Le Mobilier Francais du XIXeme Siecle, 1985, Paris, p. 37 and is dated circa 1810.
