A French Empire burr elm marble topped pier table
A French Empire burr elm marble topped pier table, the rectangular fossil marble slab above a frieze drawer, on columnar supports with engine-turned mounts and an inverted breakfront plinth, 89cm high, 100cm wide, 46cm deep
This lot is to be sold without reserve
Condition Report:
Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, Old splits and cracks, some chips, losses, and replacements to veneers - mainly around the plinth base, there is one piece detached to one side, this appears to be a fairly recent loss, however the piece is present with the lot and could probably be repaired fairly easily. There is a section of moulding missing to the rear pilaster support, This is not present with the lot Some signs of old, filled, woodworm this is mainly to the rear of the sides around the drawer The marble top with the usual nicks, scratches, marks and chips consistent with age and use We would estimate the overall weight at circa 50kg - the marble probably the larger proportion of this weight. This is a 2 man move. Please note: This information is a guide only and Dreweatts make no guarantees as to the accuracy - we have no weighing facility for items of furniture of this nature
