With associated tapering blade fullered along its entire length on both sides to the double-edged point (some old wear and rust patination), the forte on each side with etched decoration, gilt-brass hilt with pierced shell-shaped side-guard with central flaming grenade, linked to the knuckle-guard by four scrolled side-bars each chased with foliage, inner shell-guard with two side-bars en suite, lobed rear quillon, pommel with petalled cap, and cord-bound leather-covered grip (worn and damaged) with wire binding, in its steel scabbard (pitted, now painted black) with gilt-brass suspension mounts cast and chased with designs of foliage, and each with ring for suspension
