With curved fullered blade double-edged at the clipped back point, the forte etched and gilt against a blued ground (some loss of finish) with a martial trophy and foliage over much of its length on both sides, brass hilt with half-basket guard with recessed borders and comprising with two rounded bars swept up to join the knuckle-guard, ovoidal langets, lobed rear quillon, pommel-cap and back-piece in one, and wire-bound leather-covered grip, in original steel scabbard (light pitting overall) with brass suspension mounts each with brass ring
