A fine quality French Louis XVI style ormolu mounted marquetry kingwood marble topped secretaire cabinet, by Alexandre Hugnet, with single drawer above two cupboard doors, fitted secretaire drawer with fall front and cupboard below enclosed by tambour shutters on tapering supports with ormolu capped feet, interior label for A.Hugnet, 69 Faubourg Street, Antoine, Paris, 98cm wide x 39cm deep x 147cm high. NB: Alexandre Hugnet, the son of cabinet maker Aine Hugnet succeeded his father at his Faubourg, St Antoine Etelier in 1880. He was awarded a silver medal at the 1889 Exhibition Universelle.
