by cabinet-maker Conrad Mauter (1742 – 1810), in so-called “demi lune” form, Louis XV period c. 1780, partly solid mahogany and mahogany veneer, polished finish in traditional artisanal technique, fluted supports, conical feet, 3 drawers, 2 side doors, chased gilt bronze fittings, stamped C. MAUTER (master as of 1777), moulded marble top, 85 x 114 x 44 cm, in professionally restored condition. (MIN)
Conrad Mauter's clients included the Comte de Artois, brother of King Louis XVI, and later King Charles X.
