A French Silver and 'Gem'-Set Scent-Bottle, With French Control Mark for Small Articles, Last Half 19th Century, tapering, the sides chased with foliage and flowers on a matted ground and set on each side with four 'gems', the hinged cover set with a further 'gem', 8.5cm high
Condition Report:
. Marked on bezel with French control mark. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the high points. One of the applied 'gems' is faceted while the others are cabochon cut. This one is probably replaced. There is some scratching to the stones as well as some damage and cracks to the surface. With ruby coloured glass stopper.
