Two-part, circular wooden core, encased in rosé-gilt sheet iron, engraved and embellished with a small enamelled portrait of the Roman physician Aulus Cornelius Celsus (circa 25 B.C. - circa 50 A.D.). The inside with old collection and inventory labels, the lid illegibly labelled in ink. Showing traces of age and use. The gilding with minimal rubbing. Diameter 6.9 cm.
