A French gilt-bronze mantel clock, by Raingo Freres, Paris, late 19th century, the gilt-bronze case with laurel wreath and ribbon surmount flanked by two putti, with scrolling foliate mounts on base with billing doves and foliate decoration and scroll feet, the circular white enamel dial with blue Roman and black Arabic numerals, signed RAINGO FRES A PARIS to dial, the backplate numbered 1235 and with lozenge for Raingo Freres, no pendulum or keys, 41cm high, 57cm wide, 13.5cm deep Please note that Roseberys do not guarantee working order or time keeping of any automatic, mechanical, quartz or other timepiece offered for sale.
Minor pitting and tarnishing to case. Some of the mounts are slightly loose including the putti. The scrolling foliate mounts are attached but loose. Cracks and pitting to metal to reverse and tarnishing with some areas of minor Verdigris. There is a hairline crack to dial between 5 and 10. Minor scratches to glass. Minor tarnishing to bell and backplate.
