A French gilt metal and Sevres style porcelain mantel clock garniture, Japy Freres, second half 19th century, with eight-day bell striking movement stamped with a roundel for the maker and serial numbered 2470 and with Roman numeral dial, the case 35cm high, the garniture of twin light candelabra each 28cm highCondition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and useThe porcelain elements appear to be intact, there is some minor wear to the gilded elements of theseThere is some dirt and discolouration to the gilt metal areas, some polish deposits to the recesses, there is some looseness to joints overall - mostly these appear to be held by screws that could do with a tighten. There is no winding key present with the lot, the serial number of this matches that to the rear of the movement - it is assumed to be original. Dreweatts have no way of testing the movement and give no guarantees as to whether it is working or any comments as to accuracy.
