A French gilt metal mantel clock

A French gilt metal mantel clock, Raingo Freres, Paris, late 19th century, the eight day bell striking movement with outside countwheel stamped for the maker and serial numbered 3155 to the backplate, the Roman numeral dial with inset enamel cartouche numerals, the case with an openwork cartouche with festoons of flowers above the dial supported on S-scrolls and a platform base, the case stamped H PICARD and with corresponding serial number, 30cm high overall Condition Report: Dreweatts cannot guarentee the movement as working, we reccomend getting it cleaned and overhauled by a proffesional clock restorer, The case with some areas of dirt and discolouration, there are some elements which appear to be later additions and are lacquered brass rather than gilt metal. The silk obscuring the pendulum is faded, worn, has deposits of glue, With pedulum (also serial numbered 3155) and a key - this is probably a replacementThis appears to have been raised on a plinth base previously, possibly marble - there are small screw holes present to the underside Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition Condition Report Disclaimer
