A French neo-classical Grand Tour sculpture of a faun
After the model by Pierre Lepautre (1659-1744) in the Musée du Louvre, Paris. Fine, fully sculptured, darkly patinated bronze. On a square plinth the standing young satyr leaning against a tree trunk, holding a shepherd's crook, with a lamb around his shoulders. The faun wears a laurel wreath in his hair and a fig leaf concealing his genitals. Height 69 cm. Slight signs of age. Beautiful, grown, slightly glossy patina.Condition: II +
