A French/Flemish small-sword, circa 1680
Blade of diamond section, the forte with flattened central ridge, signed on one side with “Le - me fait” and on the reverse with “Santir” inlaid in brass, with multiple fullers to either side. Iron knuckle-bow hilt with floral silver inlays, the knuckle-bow with a cut-out on the tierce side for a thumb ring and a small crack. Grip with copper and iron wire wrap and two Turk's heads in brass. Six-faceted pommel, likewise with silver inlays and offset riveted button. Length 93 cm.
