(A) GEBRUDERS MAURER SHARPS PATENT TILT BARREL PEPPERBOX PISTOL.

Based on Sharps 4-barrel pistols and made in Vienna circa 1870. Very similar to copies made by Biedermann in Vienna around the same time, the 4" blued barrel cluster tips up to load rather than sliding forward as the original Sharps pistols are designed. The frame is nicely engraved with foliates, double line borders, and on the right side "GEBR. MAURER / IN WEIN". 2-piece checkered walnut grips with a faceted steel lanyard loop cap. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel cluster retains the vast majority of its lustrous original blue, starting to fade with scattered marks. Frame displays an even silvery patina. Grips have some mild marks and finish loss but rather very good overall. Bores are strong and bright, some minor imperfections present. Fine mechanics.
