A GEORGE I WALNUT WING-BACK ARMCHAIR

with later shaped stretcher

Condition Report:
The chair exhibits remedial work to the underside, notably each of the four stretcher rails appears to be later. Each foot has been re-tipped and cut to the front, both rear legs appear to be later replacements. Each pad foot formally with castors. Scuffs and old marks to timber. Some of the replaced elements, front shaped legs, could be from another piece of the same period.
Of a pleasing shape. Restoration to the visible walnut elements has some age, probably 100 years. A decorative chair which will benefit from new upholstery.
