A GEORGE II MAHOGANY AND PARCEL GILT WALL MIRRORPOSSIBLY IRISH, CIRCA 1740116cm high, 75cm wideProvenance: Phillips of Hitchin. Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old chips and splits to frame. Some old glued repairs to carved elements at the top of the frame - see images for details. There are join lines visible to the central element of the cresting and the two large scroll elements but this is likely from the original construction of the piece. Mercury mirror plate has depletion but is possibly a 19th century replacement. The backboards also have some age but are likely old replacements. The parcel gilt elements to the frame have been refreshed at some point. Some old screw holes to back from previous fixtures. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.
