A GEORGE II MAHOGANY SIDE OR CENTRE TABLECIRCA 1750With variegated red marble inset top and finished alternatively shaped frieze to the reverse69cm high, 73cm wide, 47cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old splits and chips. Marble is later associated and bears the expected minor chips and 'nibbles' to edge. The marble top has neatly executed glued repairs to cracks across three of the corners. Filler has been used to help disguise. Some remnants of old adhesive to underside of top. Various old glued splits where the legs meet the frieze (see images). One leg with old repaired split that runs through and down the leg. The blocks to the backs of the frieze/top of the legs have age but appear to be later. They are spliced into the backs of the tops of the legs and were likely added to to secure these joins (see images). Table is structurally solid overall.
