A GEORGE II WALNUT AND FEATHER BANDED BUREAU BOOKCASE CIRCA 1740 The mirror panel doors opening to shelves above pigeon holes, the fall opening to an arrangement of pigeon holes and small drawers centred by a small cupboard door, above a tooled leather inset writing surface 211cm high, 103.5cm wide, 56cm deep Condition Report: The marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old chips, splits and some losses. Some old repairs throughout - see images for details. Bevelled mirror plates are replacements. Their backboards are in oak and are also likely replacements. Tooled leather surface to the interior of the fall is a later replacement. A key is present and operates the lock to the doors and the fall. No key is present for the drawers but all are open. The locks to the drawers vary from each other and are old replacements. Some minor evidence of old worm in places. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.
