A GEORGE III FIGURED MAHOGANY CLOTHES PRESS IN THE MANNER OF GILLOWS, CIRCA 1790 The doors opening to sliding trays 209.5cm high, 131cm wide, 60cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old splits and chips. Cornice is loose and will need to be screwed down in position. Two sliding trays to the interior are lacking. Handles and locks appear original. No key present. All drawers are open. The door lock is fixed in the closed position but the doors can still be opened. One escutcheon lacking, another replaced, and one with some filler applied around it. One lock plate lacking. Later supporting blocks to the backs of feet. Inside of one door with later baton of timber across it to secure a split in the main panel of the door.
