A GEORGE III MAHOGANY CYLINDER BUREAU CIRCA 1800, IN THE MANNER OF GILLOWS The rear with arrangement of false drawer fronts 107cm high, 125cm wide, 62cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use Marks and uneveness to the surface in places including some water damage to the rear false drawers and also ink marks and staining, also colour variation and fading - may benefit from a sympathetic clean and repolish There are cracks and splits to the two sides, both horizontal, one deeper and wider than the other, also some splitting to one lower rear false drawer One handle is loose to the tambour and will need some securing with additional timber or a retaining bolt, the other has had some filler inserted to the hole and appeared to be holding until the tambour was rolled down - this loosened the handle and it came out - again further attention will be required to secure for use.The interior has been re-lined with tooled leather, this has some light marks consistent with its age and use Tambour appears intact and working at time of reportOverall solid and stablePlease see additional images for visual reference to condition Condition Report Disclaimer
