A GEORGE III NEOCLASSICAL MAHOGANY BOWFRONT SIDEBOARD, LATE 18TH CENTURY, with shaped line-inlaid bowfront superstructure with a single drawer to the centre with oval panel, flanked by two false drawer fronts to either side, the lower section with one short and two long drawers to the frieze, these are flanked by two cellarette drawers, the front of each of the cellarette drawers appearing as two drawer fronts, the drawers with replaced swan neck handles, on six line-inlaid tapering legs ending in spade feet with brass caps and castors (probably later).

115.5cm high x 245cm wide x 91cm deep

Provenance: From a collection of furniture and antiques left to the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB ) in 1939 by Evelyn Stannus of Kensington. Items in the collection are believed to have come from Ireland. Since 1939 many objects from the collection have been on loan to the National Trust and this item has been displayed at Montacute House and Hatchlands Park.
