A GEORGE III SILVER GILT BOX, by ALexander. J. Strachan, London 1807, the hinged lid inset with an 18th century oval pained panel of a seated figure with two standing figures in a dimly lit interior, a parchment on the table, book and globe to the right, foliate cast spandrels, shell and anthemion borders with a leaf ground base, the interior of the lid bearing an inscription that reads: 'Presented to Tho's Heather, Jun, Esq 10 February 1830 as A Token of Gratitude for the kind services rendered by his Father to Mr John Vanman of Portsea and left in remembrance of him to his brother Alfred, October 30th 1841', 9.5cm wide x 7.5cm deep x 2cm high
