A GEORGES DE FEURE GLASS VASE
France, c. 1920. This vase is moulded in opaque amethyst glass that give it the appearance of being carved out of a piece of rock. It features a very crisp freize of Classical dancers and musicians. Marked on the base 'G de Feure'.
14 cm high. *De Feure was a well-known Symbolist artist before becoming a key figure of the Art Nouveau scene in Paris. He designed many pieces for the Art Nouveau pavilion at the Exposition Universelle of 1900, including a handful of decorative objets in glass.
