˜A GERMAN IVORY-MOUNTED HUNTING SWORD, LAST QUARTER OF THE 18TH CENTURY with tapering blade doubled-edged towards the tip, iron hilt including knuckle-guard interrupted by a globular moulding, quillon and cap pommel, ivory grip carved with a woodland hunting scene involving a stag set upon by a hound and a hunter (small age cracks), in its scabbard faced at the front with large ivory plaques carved with scrolling foliage in low relief, including scenes from the chase at the top and bottom and the central panel with a fish attacked by a swan (small age cracks), and small iron chape 58.8 cm; 23 1/8 in blade
